Scotland provides the most impressive scenery in the UK, including the highest mountains, largest lakes, grandest waterfalls and some beautiful beaches. The country can be divided into three regions, the Southern Uplands, the central industrial belt and the Highlands in the north. In the north, the best of the scenery is concentrated along the western coast and a particular feature of the Scottish Highlands are the many sea lochs that can extend for many miles into the heart of the mountains. This gives the Scottish Highlands a similar feel to Norway, but on a more human scale – many of the mountains are accessible to ordinary walkers.
For the landscape photographer, Scotland offers a wealth of opportunities, and our small selection does not begin to do justice to this magnificent country.
