Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls are located close to Loch Maree in NW Scotland.  Like the other (rather more famous!) Victoria Falls in Africa, the are named after Queen Victoria, but at least she actually visited these falls in 1877.  However she was apparently not that impressed, declaring that other falls near Balmoral were more spectacular.  That was her opinion.  The falls are spectacular enough when full of water, dropping through three separate stages, and being easy of access from the main A832 road, they are well worth a visit.  There is a car park for the falls, signposted from the A832 just west of the Loch Maree Hotel, and from there it is only a short walk (less than 5 minutes) to the main viewing station.  Although this gives a view of the full height of the three falls, it is a little obstructed by trees.  A better view of the upper fall can be obtained by continuing uphill to the top of the falls.  Pictures below are from both viewpoints.
