The Singing Ringing Tree is a sculpture located above the town of Burnley.  It is one of a series of sculptures know as panopticons situated in prominent positions above Lancashire towns.  The sculpture was deigned by Mike Tonkin and Anna Liu and installed in 2006.  It consists of a series of open steel tubes which hum as the wind blows through them.  As it sands prominently on a hillside, it makes a wonderful structural object for photography – particularly at sunrise and sunset.

The Singing Ringing Tree is located above Burnley on the Crown Point Road, which links the A682 to the A671.  If travelling from Burnley, it is signposted from the A682, and the tree comes into sight about 1 mile up Crown Point Road.  There is a car park, then a short walk to reach the tree.  The path to the tree and the area around it can be muddy in the winter.
