The county of Cornwall contains some of the finest coastal scenery in the UK, as well as many beautiful sandy beaches and scenic fishing villages. The fine beaches mean this is a very popular area for family holidays, but for the Landscape photographer it is the dramatic craggy coastline that is the main attraction. The South West Coastal Path gives access to all points along the coast and sections of the path can be walked either out and back, or one way using buses to return to the starting point. Inland the scenery is mostly agricultural, but there is some moorland at Bodmin Moor and on the far south-west peninsula leading to Lands End. Further interest is added by numerous prehistoric sites and by abandoned copper and tin mines, some of which are set in spectacular locations, right on the shoreline.
